Boardwalk Impression
The boardwalk at the south end of Convict Lake in the Eastern Sierra mountain range of California delights me every time I take this 3 mile walk around the lake.
In this painting I am experimenting with the edge of realism and abstraction, seeking to find the point where objects are replaced with shapes, and colors become a less distinct impression, capturing the spirit of place beyond the place itself.
